Momo Ryuju (龍珠 桃りゅうじゅ もも, Ryuju Momo) is a supporting character in the series. She is the president of the Astronomy Club and one of The Impossible Girls.

Origin

Momo's name is derived from the Jewel from the Dragon's Neck (龍の首の珠), the object in The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter that Ootomo no Miyuki (Miyuki's counterpart) had been tasked with collecting.

Appearance

Momo is a girl of average height and light hair. Originally, it appears as light brown before becoming cyan. She wears the standard Shuchi'in Academy girls uniform and usually has a hat on.

During her freshman year, her hair was several inches longer.

Personality

As a member of a yakuza family, she places little value on the school rules, as seen by her wearing a hat and playing games on her cellphone while on school grounds. She also has a short temper, and others view her as being threatening.

Despite this, she is also shown to have a feminine side, owning several teddy bears (one of which she even brings to school to uses as a pillow) and having a curtain with pictures of cartoon sheep hanging up in her bedroom.

History

She served as the treasurer of the previous student council prior to Miyuki's election as president. She was the person that gave Miyuki the idea to construct a persona to attract Kaguya.

Currently, she is the president of the Astronomy Club and makes a few appearances as a background character throughout the story. She was involved in helping Miyuki steal all the heart-shaped balloons during the Culture Festival, takes part in Tsubame's plan to spread a counter-rumor about Yu, and also gets several of her father's thugs to act as Miko's bodyguards during the plot to rescue Kaguya from the Shinomiya compound.

Relationships

Kojima

Kojima and Momo have a very adversarial relationship, presumably owing to the fact that their parents are on opposite sides of the law.

Miyuki Shirogane

Miyuki Shirogane and Momo know each other from when they worked together on the student council. While their exact relationship is unknown, Momo does seem to view him in a somewhat positive light.

Previous Student Council President

Momo served under the Previous Student Council President in her freshman year. She never showed him any respect despite him being an older student.

Tsubame Koyasu

Tsubame Koyasu was an upperclassman of Momo's. Tsubame once helped keep Momo from dropping out of school, though the exact details behind the incident have yet to be specified.
