Koromo Shiranui (不知火しらぬい ころも, Shiranui Koromo) is a supporting character in the series. She is a second year student at Shuchi'in Academy and one of The Impossible Girls.

Origin

Koromo's name is derived from the Robe of the Fire Rat (火鼠の裘), an object from The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter that Abe no Miushi (Hifumi Abe's counterpart) had been tasked with collecting. More specifically, it refers to the fur of the Hinezumi, a Chinese mythical beast that live in volcanoes and cannot be caught on fire (火鼠不知暑).

Appearance

Koromo has a shoulder-length light-colored hair that is clipped with two veil-shaped ornaments on each side of her head.

She is shown to wear hoodies on top of her school uniform.

Personality

Koromo is implied to be a rather intelligent girl due to her placing in the top 50 of her class in the second semester finals. She also enjoys playing video games in her spare time.

Koromo works in the entertainment industry, being late for school due to recording sessions, and is knowledgeable about the harassment which may come from it.

History

Koromo first appears in Chapter 211 where she arrives late on her first day in 2nd year.

Etymology

• Koromo's surname Shiranui means "phosphorescent light" (不知火).
  • Phosphorescence is relating to a type of light that glows softly in the dark and that does not produce heat.

Trivia

• As of the second semester finals, Koromo is ranked 49^th among the first year students .
• As of the third semester finals, Koromo is ranked 41^th among the first year students .
• Many fans of the manga comment that Koromo has the similar appearance as Nino Nakano, a character from the 5-toubun no Hanayome series.
• It's mentioned in an interview that Koromo might be the older sister of Frill Shiranui from Oshi no Ko, but Aka Akasaka hadn't decided how the timeline for the two series line up yet. The timeline was fixed later in Oshi no Ko special chapter.
