Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai is an anime adaptation of the manga series, originally announced on Friday, June 1, 2018 along with its Twitter account and website launch. It premiered on Saturday, January 12, 2019 and was produced by A-1 Pictures. The early screening of first 2 episodes of the anime was on January 5, 2019. The anime airs on TokyoMX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11. Aniplex of America will stream the series on FunimationNow, Hulu, and Crunchyroll. The anime is also available on Netflix and Animelab.
A second season of the anime was announced on October 19, 2020 via the Kaguya anime's official Twitter account. It was further confirmed by a PDF file from the kaguya.love website that the original cast and staff would be reprising their roles. It premiered on April 11, 2020.
A third season of the anime as well as an OVA project were announced during the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai on Stage concert held on October 25, 2020. The OVA will be released in 2021.
