The two are often regarded as the perfect couple by students, despite them not being in any sort of romantic relationship.
However, the truth is that after spending so much time together, the two have developed feelings for one another; unfortunately, neither is willing to confess, as doing so would be a sign of weakness. Trivia[]
- Aka Akasaka originally planned the title to be IQ (愛求 Aikyuu lit. Love Seeking / Love Longing) but his editor told him off. To make it easier for readers to figure out the contents from the title, it was changed to the current.
- According to him, the work was originally planned as something like a romantic version of Death Note, but in the end, most of the plot was written under the influence of School Rumble, another cult manga in the romantic comedy genre.
- Aka likes to tease that two of his manga take place in the same universe. For example, the events of Oshi no Ko officially take place several years after the end of Kaguya-sama.
- Aka effectively denied the possibility of any sequel in the future, saying in a parting word in the second fanbook that "the future of the characters belongs to them and only them" and that he does not intend to touch them. At the same time, the published omake chapter sheds some details of the current lives of the characters, although mainly developing and confirming the events of the flashword. He also promised that despite this, he is positive about the idea of a cameo for this manga's characters in his future work.
