Despite his appearance, Gomanosuke is a very friendly individual, rubbing himself on Kaguya's legs, and being popular in the school.

History
Gomanosuke first appears in during the beginning of the new school year, though he first interacts with the main cast when Kaguya finds him sitting on the desk in the Student Council's room, taking shelter from the rain. Kaguya at first detested the cat but quickly warms up to him, giving him warm milk and even naming him Edward, as she thought he was a stray. Ishigami then enters the room, seeing Kaguya taking pictures of the cat, despite her claiming that she hates cats. Gomanosuke then exits from the window because the rain stopped, making Kaguya angrily shout at the cat to not come back, as she thinks cats only think about themselves. The next day, the cat returns to the Student Council's room, with Miyuki and Chika there to witness the cat on Kaguya's lap. Chika then reveals to Kaguya that the cat's real name is Gomanosuke, surprising her with the strange name.
