Episode 36 is the twelfth episode of season 3 and the thirty-sixth overall episode of the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai anime series.

Summary[]

The moment the culture festival reached its finale, the jewel object made by Shirogane was stolen by a phantom thief who calls himself Arsène. Kaguya and the others headed to the roof where the phantom thief keeps appearing, but there was no one there. Fujiwara, who transformed into a genius detective, struggles to solve the mystery behind the calling card and uncover the thief's true identity. But Kaguya, left behind at the scene of the crime, had begun to figure out the criminal. The problem is the location. Kaguya traced the phantom thief's line of thinking and headed to where he is now...[1]

Kaguya Wants to Confess, Part 2[]

After Miyuki tells Kaguya that he is studying abroad next fall, Kaguya comes to Ai for advice. Ai urges Kaguya to do everything she has longed to do to Miyuki before he leaves and so she comes up with a plan that, after lighting up a campfire with a bow and arrow as a part of the festival, Kaguya would confess to him while drinking canned coffee.

Kaguya Wants to Confess, Part 3[]

In order to confess, they must find Miyuki first. During their search, Yu learns about the act of giving a heart during the festival, but fails to realize that he confessed. Unable to find him, Kaguya has to light up the bonfire but then the phantom thief, Arsène starts mysteriously dropping cryptic messages written on the gathered crowd.

Dual Confessions, Part 1[]

Chika drags Kaguya along to solve the riddle. However Kaguya has concluded all of it is just a red herring. Having Worked out that the phantom thief is Miyuki and believing that all of this was a set up for her specifically. She decides to go alone but as soon as she splits up with Ai, she is not able buy the canned coffee that she planned and worse she has drop the heart pendant that she was going to use to confess. And so with none of that thing she prepared, she set forth to find Miyuki...
